9 Facts Agents Need to Know About Our Annual Plan

You may have seen the recent advertisements circulating around our new Annual Plan for Travel Professionals, or maybe you've noticed the announcement on our website before logging in. But we've been getting a lot of questions about the new TravelSafe plan, and what better place to address these questions than our blog?

So here is what you need to know before you purchase the TravelSafe plan.

TravelSafe Insurance Annual Plan for Agents - Travel Insurance for Travel Agents

1. It's available for 1 year from the day you purchase

From the date of enrollment, you are covered for one year. This mean if you purchase the Annual Plan halfway through the year, you will be covered until halfway through the following year.

2. Trip Cancellation is Included

Sure, some annual plans may cost less annually. Less isn't always more. But what they don't include is Trip Cancellation. With our travel insurance for travel agents, you have up to $1,500 in Trip Cancellation coverage. That can make all of the different when deciding between plans.

3. It's not available in Montana, Washington or Canada

Due to regulations in these areas, the plan is unavailable to them. If anything changes, we will be sure to let our agents know.

4. You can purchase a single trip policy in addition to the Annual Plan

A lot of travel agents have been asking if the plan is able to be supplemented by additional coverage. The answer is yes, but it will be just that - a supplement. Benefits will be coordinated between both policies. Whichever plan was effective first will most likely be the starting point of coverage.

You may also find that supplementing the Annual Plan with a single trip policy for your larger, more expensive trips will provide you with more coverage. If one claim is not covered by one, it may be covered by another.

5. Other agents, and your independent consultants, can purchase the plan

This plan is meant for travel agents, and is not intended for your clients. However, travel agents within your agency are able to purchase the plan through your account. They won't need to sign up for their own account in order to purchase the policy.

6. The plan covers direct family members

You can also purchase the plan for your direct family members if you are authorized to sell TravelSafe. So, if you take your significant other and children on a few vacations a year, the Annual Plan may work out perfectly for you!

7. The other benefits stay in place, even after one benefit is used

All of the benefits are available for the coverage term. If you file a claim and use your Trip Cancellation benefit, you will still have the other benefits until they are exhausted.

For example, if you had a prepaid trip canceled due to a covered reason and the cost was $1,500, your Trip Cancellation Benefit would be exhausted. But if you are on your next trip, and need to see a doctor, you will still be able to use the Medical Expense Benefit.

8. About the effective date of coverage

You may purchase the plan the day prior to departure, but not the day of departure. What you need to keep in mind is the plan has to be purchased within 10 days of final payment for the first trip to be covered.

9. You can renew the plan

The plan does not automatically renew, but you can plan ahead and purchase your next policy before your current coverage is up.

This will come in handy for you, especially if you book more than 4 trips annually. Chances are, if you are planning a trip in advance, you will make the final trip deposit fairly early on. If you notice your that your Annual Plan is due to expire before this particular trip, you will want to purchase your next plan to ensure the trip is covered.

Remember: you will need to have purchased the next policy within 10 days of the final deposit for your first trip.

Before you purchase the Annual Plan for Travel Professionals, be sure to read the certificate and reach out to TravelSafe if you have any questions regarding coverage. We are happy to help.
